Yosemite. Skandia at start of Sydney to Hobart Race

Events along the way Besides passages and landfalls we are taking some side trips along the way. Most of these are beyond the boat. Bon Voyage Party 2001 In July 2001 before we left Seattle, we had a Bon Voyage party at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Seattle at the Shilshole Bay Marina. Windarra was tied up to the dock next to the yacht club for people to take a look at. Napa and Elaine’s injury 2001 We decided to go to Napa to warm up. Unfortunately Elaine had an accident and injured her hand. Yosemite 2001 We rented a car while we were in San Francisco and drove to Yosemite. It is a gorgeous national park and a must see. America's Cup 2003 We arrived in Auckland, New Zealand in time to see the Louis Vuitton Challenger Series and the America;s Cup 2003. Sydney to Hobart Race 2003 On Boxing Day, Dec. 26, 2003 we join Matt and Jo of CStar to watch the start of the Sydney to Hobart Race. Quick Trip to New Zealand 2004 To satisfy a requirement of our visas for Australia, we had to exit the country for a brief period of time before our first 11 months of stay were over. The cheapest place we could go was New Zealand, so we took a quick trip to the Land of the Long White Cloud to escape the heat in Queensland. Change of Plans 2004 When we left almost three years ago our plan was to spend three years exploring the world and its peoples. The plan has evolved and it is changing again. Return to Seattle 2004 Aug. 10, 2004 we loaded Windarra on the ship, then we made our way back to Seattle where we are now.
